Mt. Holly – 7th Annual Mt Holly Ski/Snowboard Competition – March 9, 2013
The 7th Annual Mt Holly Ski and Snowboard Competition is scheduled on Canyon. The date has been set and the Canyon Arena is a work in progress. The event will include a Rail Jam, SlopeStyle, and Big Air events.
The day will start out on our rail park for the Rail Jam. Warm up starts at 10 am. We will be running our age brackets in a Jam format for 20 minutes each. Then we will take the best 3 people from each bracket and allow them an additional 15 minute session to crown the victor of each division.
This year we are going to have the slopestyle event on the Snowstream run. This is partly due to the weather conditions this winter and the fact that we already have a solid foundation to work off of. The park is going to grow in jump size and technicality of rails. Each rider will have two runs to put together the best line possible for the win.
Prizes will be awarded for the Rail Jam and Slopestyle at the end of the Slopestyle event. We will also be throwin out swag for all who enter.
Finally, this years park on Canyon is going to consist of the big boys. The hill is well covered so we should be able to build some very large jumps this year. By taking away the slopestyle event, it allows us to put together a jump line that is going to blow people away. Then there is the Big Air. By keeping one jump line down the hill, we will be able to build a jump at the bottom of Canyon, for the Big Air event, that will truly be worthy of the event. The Big Air event will start promptly at 7 pm and will be an hour long Jam Session. The winner of the best ski trick and snowboard trick will be determined by the audience. And of course the prize for Big Air is Cash Money! Should be exciting.
Here is the break down of age groups:
1. Youth-12 both Skiers and Snowboarders
2. 13-17 Mens Snowboarders
3. 18 and up Mens Snowboarders
4. Womens both Skiers and Snowboarders
5. Mens Skiers (may be broken into two age groups depending on the amount of riders)
Last but not least, it will be $15 for one event, $25 for entering two, or $35 for all three.
The comp is scheduled for March 9, 2013. We will be registering participants from 9 am till 10 or so.
