FROM Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park - the Porkies >> 1/6/26 - Ski Trail Update -
ALL trails have been track-set in the last 24 hours!
Considering the lack of snow and the warm temperatures, trails are in pretty good condition!
*Reminder - although the trails are track-set, you can snowshoe on the non-tracked side! #porkies #SkiMichigan1/6/26 - Ski Trail Update -

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/6 and there is no need to groom today. No new snow. I don't think I have wrote that for awhile. We are experiencing warmer temps that will help settle our snow. Lodge will be open. Keep the fire going. See you on the trails. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less

FROM Hanson Hills >> Trail Update for Today :
Nordic-Fat Bike Trails
Due to warm temperatures and forecasted freezing rain, grooming operations will be suspended for the day. Operating equipment under these conditions would risk damage to the snow surface and underlying base.
To preserve trail integrity, the trail system will be closed today. This proactive closure helps prevent rutting and glazing and allows the base to firm up once colder temperatures return.
Outlook: The forecast remains unfavorable through the remainder of the week, limiting our ability to resume grooming. Conditions will be assessed daily, and trails will reopen as soon as weather and surface conditions allow.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to protect the long-term quality of the trail system. #hansonhills #SkiMichiganTrail Update for Today :

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/5, John Carlson groomed the snow bike trail that is located at our upper parking lot. John reports it is soft. A few people snowshoeing on this trail would help. The Pines allow bikes, snowshoes and dogs on this trail. It is the only trail at VS that dogs are allowed on. Thanks for following the rules. #valleyspur #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less
