Classic tracks on these trails are two days old and still holding up well.

Groomed yesterday with fresh set tracks and skiing well.

Groomer Jorden is out this morning packing the trail. Riding should be good very soon!
🎓 Program Update:
Due to the CASD school district being closed today, the after-school Learn to Ski program is canceled.

Downhill and tubing operations will resume Friday, January 23rd from 4:00–9:00 PM for our Friday Night Specials:

We spent one day of the holiday weekend skiing at Swiss Valley, MI. Here’s an honest, helpful rundown if you’re planning a visit
Lift Tickets- $54 — ages 12 & under and 60+/ $64 —ages 13–59
Rentals: Ski or snowboard + helmet: $29 Helmet only: $5 / Boots only: $20/ Skis or snowboard only: $20
Lessons available.
👉 On weekends and holidays, arrive early if you need rentals to avoid long lines.

Swiss Valley has 3 main indoor spaces
☕ Café 225–Cafeteria-style dining-Faster, more predictable option on busy days
🍔 The Chalet Bar & Grill—Formerly a sit-down restaurant, now counter service
(We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes and never received our food. Ended up getting a refund and eating popcorn instead:-(
They are very short staffed and still working out systems

Running a Midwest ski hill is hard, especially with unpredictable winters, staffing challenges, & holiday crowds. Despite some growing pains, Swiss Valley delivered solid skiing and a fun winter experience, just PKEASE work on adding signage/staffing/ systems!

Pulling into forbushcorner in Frederic, Michigan felt like stepping into a winter postcard that came to life. The trails were absolutely buttery smooth, miles on miles of sliding & gliding while a light blizzard rolled in turning the whole day into what seemed like a movie while filming without slowing me down too much.
Every twist and turn uncovered snow loaded pines standing tall and welcoming, framing the trail like a tunnel. The hills were playful and perfectly spaced, giving that heart pounding rush on the descents and a rewarding burn on the climbs. Add in the welcoming, knowledgeable staff who make you feel like like you’ve been going there for decades the moment you arrive, and it’s impossible not to say the trip was 100% worth it.
A pure Michigan winter adventure at its finest!
