Mackinac Island Cross Country Skiing
The Mackinac Island Ski club grooms trails on the east and north side of the Island in Mackinac Island State Park.
The cross country ski trails wind through the pristine woods of Mackinac Island State Park and allow the winter visitor to see all of the natural and historical landmarks of the island.
You can follow the ski trails to the interior of the island and take in the vistas from the highest point on the island at Fort Holmes. Or ski through the woods to Arch Rock and enjoy the view of Lake Huron from the bluffs on the eastern side of the island.

This is what I mean when I say that the Mackinac Island community is so incredible. Meals on Snowmobiles is put on by Ste. Anne's Church by Chef (islander and kitchen DJ) John Cadotte and local volunteers. Today's meal was a fresh salad, a roll, mixed veggies, and John's baked ziti! All homemade. We packaged around 50 of them to be delivered all over the island. John has been running the program for about 13 years, but it's been going on for longer than that. Cheers to everyone who makes this happen, it's such a fun activity to get to be a part of and one of the many reasons why the Mackinac community is the best ever. 🩷 #mackinacisland #puremichigan #smalltown #winter #snowmobile
